Care Medical Group is proud to be one of Whatcom County’s Centers of Occupational Health and Education (COHE), as designated by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I). As a COHE provider, we are dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of Whatcom’s workforce by adhering to the highest standards of occupational health care. Our goal is to streamline the process of filing claims with L&I, efficiently treat workplace injuries, reduce work disability, and coordinate effective return-to-work options tailored to each employee’s needs.
As a COHE provider, we guide both workers and employers through the necessary steps for treating work-related injuries and illnesses:
1. Submit a Report of Accident (ROA)
We ensure that a thorough and accurate Report of Accident is submitted to L&I, providing all necessary information to facilitate the processing of claims.
2. Complete an Activity Prescription Form (APF)
This form details the employee’s ability to work, physical limitations, and treatment plan, keeping both the employee and employer informed about the worker’s health status
3. Discuss Return-to-Work Options
We explore return-to-work options with the employee that fit their current condition, including transitional or light-duty work to support their recovery.
4. Identify Barriers and Solutions to Recovery
We help identify work and health barriers and implement effective solutions to ensure a smooth process to recovery.
5. Prescribe Opioids as Necessary
When pain management is needed, we prescribe opioids responsibly, following best practices to prevent misuse and dependence.
At Care Medical Group, we are committed to providing timely treatment and the resources needed for employees to thrive in a safe and healthy work environment.
