Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our patient-centered rehabilitation team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping individuals recover from injury, improve mobility, and regain independence through evidence-based physical therapy practices.

As a PTA, you will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists to deliver hands-on care and therapeutic interventions. You’ll play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their recovery journey, ensuring they receive personalized, effective, and empathetic care.

Essential Duties:

  • Implement physical therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities.
  • Monitor patient progress and document clinical notes accurately.
  • Educate patients on proper techniques, wellness strategies, and injury prevention.
  • Assist patients with mobility aids such as walkers, crutches, and prosthetics.
  • Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and insurance authorizations.
  • Support administrative tasks including chart management, billing documentation, and communication with providers.
  • Participate in team meetings, contribute to clinic goals, and assist with inventory and equipment maintenance

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting.
  • Current state PTA license or certification (required).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in outpatient or clinical rehabilitation settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with insurance processes and patient scheduling systems is a plus

    Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and listen attentively. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

    Equipment Operated:  Position requires the use of a multi-line phone, computer, fax machine, copier, tablets, barcode scanner, label printer, electronic signature pad, some medical diagnostic and treatment tools, and personal protective gear.

    Working Conditions: Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail and ability to work at a computer. Requires the use of an N-95 mask and half mask respirator.

    Immunization Requirements: Immunizations required: Influenza, Hep B, Tdap, MMR, Varicella or a positive titer test, PPD and any additional immunizations determined necessary for the protection of staff and patients. A negative COVID-19 test may be required prior to start-date, dependent on recent travel history. Care Medical Group will be financially responsible for COVID, titer testing, influenza vaccination and PPD screening if needed.
